Course Policies
Instructor Policies Due to FERPA laws which protect your own privacy, I will not discuss your grades over the phone or by email. If you want to discuss your grades, you must come to my office, in person, either during my scheduled office hours or by appointment.
Attendance Policy Theater can only happen in the presence of both the performers and the audience. To that end, showing up is of utmost importance. Students can miss the equivalent days equal to the number of class meetings per week. As this is a Tuesday/Thursday class, students are allowed up to two absences. After two, each additional absence will result in the lowering of the student's overall course grade by one full letter grade.

As already mentioned, prompt attendance is necessary in the arts. At the beginning of each class, roll will be called. If you are not present when your name is called, you will be marked ABSENT for the day. The same goes for leaving class early: you will be considered absent.
Academic Honesty Academic honesty is expected from all students, and dishonesty in any form will not be tolerated. Please consult the LSC-PA policies (Section IX, subsection A, in the Faculty Handbook) for consequences of academic dishonesty.
Facility Policies
  1. No food or tobacco products are allowed in the classroom.

  2. Only students enrolled in the course are allowed in the classroom, except by special instructor permission.

  3. Use of electronic devices is prohibited.
Important Information
ADA Considerations The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a federal anti-discrimination statute that provides comprehensive civil rights for persons with disabilities. If you believe you have a disability requiring an accommodation, please contact the the Office for Disability Services Coordinator, Room 231, in the Madison Monroe Building. The phone number is (409) 984-6241.

Other CONTENT DISCLOSURE: Content in the arts can sometimes include works, situations, actions, and language that can be offensive to some students on the grounds of sexual explicitness, violence, or blasphemy. As these topics can be central to the texts about which we are learning, and our college is devoted to the principle of Academic Freedom, students who might feel unduly distressed or made uncomfortable by such expressions should speak privately with the instructor to determine the best course of action.
HB 2504 This syllabus is part of LSC-PA's efforts to comply with Texas House Bill 2504.
